Sevilla vs. Barcelona analysis: The 2-0 scoreline was 'FLATTERING' to Lionel Messi's side | ESPN FC

ESPN FC’s Julien Laurens and Craig Burley break down Barcelona’s 2-0 defeat in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semifinal tie vs. Sevilla. Laurens says Sevilla were the far better team and Barcelona were lucky to not have lost by more. He adds that Jules Kounde is showing why he’s the best young defender in Spain and blames Samuel Umtiti on both goals scored by Sevilla. Burley doesn’t see the need for two legs in the Copa del Rey semis and calls Ronald Koeman «a dead man walking» given Barca’s struggles for consistency since he took the job.

  1. I'm still sayin problem with Barcelona is the Approach sometimes. it's not excuse that some managers when they're behind get cracked up . I'm still saying Barcelona is Messi , he scores or assist the scores go up & if he doesn't , nothing. He's playing as a deep mid , attackin mid , winger & a striker at this age. Workload is too much & for normal people who haven't played football in they life doesn't knw how hard it is.

  2. Really impressed with busquets standing around and stabbing all game while Rakitic was an embarrassment while he just did stupid things like build up plays on counters, defend and attack well and well, scored at the end. We’re really lucky to have such laziness on the pitch. We deserve the results we have. Being one of the top scorers in the world right now, Barca was smart to let that has-been Suarez go.

  3. no way it flatters barca. It is a deserved result to sevilla but flatter us? i don't think so. Sevilla goal keeper made alot of saves too. I liked Kounde though, CB but was attacking us like crazy. I liked that

  4. Apart from the blatant fouls and clear penalties in the game, Busquets should never ever start in any Barcelona high intensity game, no matter how fit he is, he doesn't add value to the team without the ball and that's the main job of a defensive mid, it's all about defensive behaviors like cassemiro not how well you pass and that's what Koeman needs to understand.
